Roman Chasubles

( number of products: 136 )

This type of vestments is still worn these days by clergymen of the Roman Catholic, Lutheran and Anglican Churches. Used a little less frequently than the Gothic type, Roman chasubles are distinguished by the presence of pillar orphreys at the back and a big cross in a "T" letter shape at the front. Today they are often associated with Traditionalist Catholicism - a movement that calls for a return to liturgical forms and traditions practised before the Second Vatican Council.

Our fiddleback chasubles come in sets with stoles, maniples, burses and chalice veils. The collection includes embroidered or woven vestments made of various fabrics: silk, wool, velvet, cotton, flax or polyester. Rich patterns and colours of the used materials make the Eucharist celebration even more solemn and beautiful.

Some of the fiddleback vestments were finished with embroidered ornaments, others are decorated with the images of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, St. Joseph and other saints important to the Christian tradition.

I love the Roman chasubles from your workshop. I have ordered four and each are a work of liturgical art. The Holy Spirit chasuble with Veni Creator Spiritus is a very fine work. Thank you!
